what type of worship service do you go to?

it sure wasn't a Friends meeting...quaker tenets of belief

are you talking about the big mega churches? The may be big on the contributions, but the only other place I've witnessed those sort of requirements for worship were catholic mass and ceremonial magics?

i've not once seen Pastor Hagee wear anything or sprinkle anyone with anything, and Pastor Jakes preaches about a lot, but mostly it's "only a sinner can save a sinner" i've not once heard him suggest we do anything other than look for the bundles of grain that are dropped for the faithful to find.

however, those are hardly a fair comparison for most of the average American congregations I've come across, I've sat through a variety of churches and their services to find one that suits me, the messianic group was by far the most jovial, and i enjoyed the Davidical approach they showed in their celebration of Gd with dance and prayer, the reading was a short history of the Jewish holiday Shavuot, read out of the bible and a discussion about how Jesus would have celebrated such a festival, followed by a potluck of delicious, kosher dishes and dance lessons.

the most personal i had is the home church that i used to go to, they spent more time celebrating the family together under Gd, with a potluck and prayer than hellfire and brimstone, the last time i was required to kneel to anyone not a god was communion, i turned to witchcraft shortly there after.

Those who look to crosses, priests or other man made objects and subjects as necessary tenets of worship, make me wonder if they have ever read their bible... anyone that willingly accepts Jesus and worships Gd would understand that worship isn't in a church, led by a priest or even passing around money, it's about celebrating what was done for us with those of like mind and inclination.

there are churches and people who seem to accept that through materialism is the only way to please Gd and follow Christ, but if they read their bibles, they'll find most of it's hogwash, even Gd gets on about what horrible things priests can be in Hosea and constantly points out Israel's failure choosing to follow the material presentations of worship; anything and anyone that presents themselves as a representative of The Almighty rather than thinking with their hearts about who or what is driving the religious leaders of the day.

an idol is anything that is worshiped in place of The Lord, that one thing you can't live with out, if they can't live without "preachers, prayer cloths, absolution water, money" than in my opinion, they're not being very Christ like.

the Amish, Hutterites and Menonites exist just fine without those needs too, we have a lot of Hutterites around here, they raise amazingly fantastic fowl!
