to see what people will do for money?

i heard something like this on a christian network discussion, the pastor was going on about what percentage would do immoral things for ten thousand dollars...they were high percentages, but more practical choices.

what wicked power does the world have over the earth that makes it such a necessary source for people to get into trouble with?
