Face it. Period. It will continue to rule and control you until you do. And yes I do know what phobias are like, I have acrophobia
(heights) and the ever so popular claustrophobia, which I suspect is genetic. My mind starts racing about everything that could go wrong, ways that which ever particular situation could result in my untimely death, and it is damn near paralyzing. So I try and distract myself, or take steps to calm myself, either by breathing practices, or just focusing on one single object in front of me, and blocking everything else out.
