It is all subjective. Even with the opportunities available in the USA some do not have the savvie or brains to take advantage of them. Some people are just plain fucking nuts and do not have the sanity to do so. As such we do have poverty here. It has not been abolished. We have starving children, and adults who cannot muster enough cash to even pay for one meal a day.
So I have not a clue as to where you might be living where the lights are always bright and everyone always has 3 square meals. In reality poverty exists everywhere irregardless of how someone got there or the opportunities available to get oneself out of there.
