I am a celtic and I spell it magik. And to answer your question, most of the best ritual items can be found in nature, such as the black snake, or the blood, hair, or bones of a creature. Items made from cherrywood are the most effective in rite and no other wood should be considered. Celtic sea salt is a must, and i'll tell you this. What i've learned about rituals is this, the more time and effort you expend, the greater the results. The gods will reward our expenditures appropriately.
