However, most black people in America share a common background of mostly West-African coastal descent, whose ancestors were enslaved in the South until the 1860's, and mostly stayed in the South with sporadic diasporas since, but remains largely segregated and repressed by Jim Crow. There are some common problems to black culture, some which are in fact originally the fault of (dead) white people, such as the lack of property to inherit because of the extreme exploitation of ancestors, the poor history of education because education was largely denied to some degree or the other to blacks especially prior to the 1950's, and some of which are self-created such as Al Sharpton and the entire government of the state of Louisiana.
