I think it depends on which version of the Bible you're talking about.
The Sumerian or Akkadian myth states that the Annunaki were responsible for the creation, that their divine essence in the form of spit or semen (depending, again, on the version of text in question) was mixed with our soil to create the first humans. These "gods" can be considered extraterrestrials in the most basic sense of the word: they were not from this realm.
The traditions set forth in the earliest documented religions, including the great flood and crucifixion/resurrection filtered down through cuneiform and oral history to become the basis for Egyptian religion and later Judaism and Christianity.
I see no problem with conjecture on how things began, to me that isn't as important as where we individually and collectively choose for things to go from here. |
