First of all, while I didn't say it directly, I think I implied that it was not in their best interest in the short term sense. I believe that it is in their interest long term, and I don't think private corporations should be "expected" to do a goddamn thing. I think that it is the responsibility of the federal government to fund and run this. Perhaps a little lobbying reform could resolve this issue, perhaps not.
