Unless they're causing the child physical harm via beating those who don't take to the indoctrination, making them stay awake for three days while having "Jesus is My Lord" blasted in their ears, or some other crap, and unless they're actively encouraging crimes such as attacking non-believers, then it's their right to practice this however they want. Doesn't matter whether or not I support it.
As it happens, I do find some aspects of it slightly creepy. Less so the zealous aspects of it than those that are just stereotypical redneck. I don't like picking on people for putting on a few pounds, but I'm starting to question why every big representative of conservative christianity looks like a beached whale. I used to actually hang out with a bunch of evangelical baptists in a youth group, and I never got hassled for differences in religion or had anyone raise their voice at me, even when I explained why I thought Hell was a myth and the moral codes against homosexuality were outdated and stone-age. These people were very serious Christians, but they were actually evangelical and trying to reach people. When you go to a camp of nothing but hardcore Christians and start doing weapons training and talking about being God Warriors... well...
