I dont think we would have won WWII if we had fought like we do today... but today we have live news coverage, press following every major figure around and listening to their conversations. nothing is hidden, everything is in your face... and if you miss the news at 10pm you can just turn the station to one of the 4 major 24hour news networks. I dont think its a question of whether or not the tactics are right/wrong but rather what the war-machine can get away with.
