Yeah, the FBI illegally tapped MLK (just like the illegally tapped JFK, and a score of others during the time), and they discovered some skeletons in his closet. But the dude stood before a crowd, a crowd that could easily contain a gunman (and eventually did) and said things that desperately needed to be said.
I realize things are changing, white people are taking the word "nigger" back, racism has become less shocking and more humorous, I do it myself sometimes. But amazing things happened in the 60's, amazing changes that badly needed to be made, and this man has risen as the face of that era, whether that reputation is well deserved or not. Reading the posts on this page actually sickened me a little. In your attempt to avoid "white guilt", you're swinging the other way, you're becoming hateful and vengeful, and that isn't going to solve anything, its stepping backwards. |
what a crock of steaming human shit.
i dont feel guilty for "400 years of oppression" i dont feel guilty for the blacks at katrina. i dont feel guilty because they cant afford to put "dubs on da whip" ass is ass no matter how its smells or what color.
take em all, take em all, put our back against a wall and shoot em, toe to toe, watch em fall, come on boys take em all.
