i'm at auburn university, a state school in alabama. i'm studying software engineering (computer science by another name).

my favorite subjects are math, physics, and programming. i do well in them and enjoy discussing them with others. i like to think that the logic needed in them (especially programming) helps me think logically. i think in terms of cause->effect. it's easy.

i love english, but it's the class i have to work hardest at. the others come naturally.

music appreciation, to tell the truth, bores me. i did my best in it and am consoled by the fact that i never have to take it again. i feel like i gave liking it a shot, and it just didn't work out. my grade will be fine but i feel i learned very little.

i do drink a lot, and smoke a lot, and sometimes sleep a lot. i never sleep through class and avoid missing class (i may have missed class 2x this semester, two different classes). i consider myself mature and responsible. i am proud of my accomplishments and acknowledge that there are people both more intelligent and less intelligent than me. i look for the insight in what everyone says. i love learning things, and most of the things i learn do come from other people and books. but more than learning i love thinking - hence my proclivity towards programming. it's a lot like applied philosophy and math, really, if you've ever tried it. it's rewarding, like drawing a picture and solving a physics problem all at once.

all in all, i think college is a pretty nice place to chill. it stimulates my thinking and gives me new experiences to chew on. in that respect, it's been great so far. i'm only a freshman by the way. today was the last day of classes.

so what do you do for a living? do you still work? are you retired? where did you go to college? what did you study? what is your field of specialization? i think it would be only civil to tell me, after this confession.
