I don't think we can just "go back". I have often thought that armed conflicts would be more infrequent if used swords and other arcane weapons that required you not only you risk as much as the man you were fighting but also be up close and personal. Very little would seem fighting for in that fashion nowadays... We can't just regress though. Have you read "The Celestine Prophesy"? Supposedly our social evolution could eventually lead to a society where much is automated and organized for the better of the whole, leaving us more time to experience life and understand energy. Giving us time enough to become more enlightened and fufilled.
Or we could end up destroying ourselves... We are going to die eventually anyway...
