He wasn't "talking shit" he was giving a carefully prepared address on a subject. Just because some people may react badly to what you say, does that mean you should not give other people who may actually react thoughtfully to your words the opportunity to hear it?
You want someone talking shit, look at Bush. He flings words like "crusade" and "evildoers" around like he
wants to start a religious war. Nothing like bringing inflammatory remarks to the table to give people, even the ones who aren't trying to blow you up, reason to be pissed off.
