Yeah, the wager breaks down a little in that one can't adopt a religion just enough to have a great afterlife; the motivation has to be genuine. But I think the argument is still sound; the difficulty is in becoming able to believe something you didn't believe before, or choosing to keep believing what you previously accepted unquestioningly. |
