Mostly mankind treats the concept of the physcal body as something approaching a holy vessel. There was a time when performing surgery was sinful now thousands are done every day. I would hope as we advance we let go of the stigma we place on the human body. |
My point that body-image is an important facet of the mind still stands. Look at the article, people go to drastic lengths to appear attractive as it is integrated with their feelings of self-worth.

Actually, I read that the Dogs usually died a few days later in such experiments.
