If we make it through the asteriods, ice ages, earth quakes, volcano's, and plagues, oh and did i mention that were past due for a reverseing of the poles (see solar radiation above) and maybe a big enough solar flair (see potential cause for 95% mass extinction event) Life is always on the knifes edge the one way are species may survive is to planet hop. Of course who cares about the space program its no big deal, least we all forget every other galaxy is moving farther away.
