Jesus said that you should despise the value of your eyes compared to the value of your soul

He said: what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world but to lose His soul?

If you bear any value of your eyes then surely you care if there is a Hell.

If there is a literal place that is Hell, you owe it to yourself to find out if God is real and the value of the claims the Bible lays down on your life.

Besides, if I recall correctly Jesus said there was only one commandment: Love thy neighbor as thyself.

Since this seems to be a semi-serious discussion, can we get this moved over to Religion?
how do you arrive that we are at an inpermanent state of time? if you think about it, life always points to eternity.. before this there was that, before that there was the other and before that etc...
Would a good judge be loving if He did not punish the murderers and rapists etc?

The greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and to love your neighbour as yourself.. these encompass the ten commandments if you look what is involved in the statement. For example how is it possible to love God by intentionally breaking one of His ten commandments?

I hate the idea of a vengeful God; if he sends a kid to hell because he isn't baptized, I think I'll find something else to worship, since that would make him a total dickhead.

It's fantastic if you're able to live that way, and it's much easier than the alternative, but the fact of the matter is that you know just as little as everyone else in the world; you just use faith to disprove common sense, i.e. dinosaur bones.
There is a lot to fear if what the Bible proclaims is true is there not?

A religion based on don'ts...
if i was asked to referee a rugby match, the game would be anarchy, because i don't know everything about the game.. however if the referee who has been in the position for a long long time instructs the players what to and what not to do, then the game works far better. You can think that Christianity is a load of don'ts... but could that be for a good reason - from the overall creator who knows what is best for us and hopes that we play by the rules that will make the world work better.. of course we have to choose to do that, He can't make us.

excuse me? can you really judge who He judges? How can you validate this statement or did you just make it up? baptism does not give you salvation. Salvation is a gift of God paired with a repentant heart. Scripture clearly shows this.

i am not sure what you are getting at with Dinosaur bones...

God bless you
