How did I ruin my argument with that statement? I couldn't have stopped people from being killed in Iraq no matter what I did but the topic of abortion is a very intimate, national issure. Abortions happen everyday where you live so there it should be easy for pro-lifers to adopt these un-wanted children, thus easing the socio-economic problems created by un-wanted pregnancies. Or even better, end poverty and educate the lower classes . . . |
Billy somehow has more power to stop abortions than you have to stop genocide? Didn't you say that he has no right to protest something unless he's prepared to fix it himself?
My argument is simply that you should be prepared to do something to save unwanted children up for adoption if you don't approve of abortion. Become a social worker, adopt a few of them who you have no personal investment in or family ties to. something.
Well.. why don't you become a lobbyist? Or work for any of the civilian agencies that provide relief and aid in the Middle East? Or stage a protest? Or do any number of things? Don't ask people to do what you won't do yourself.
