Nobody was entertained by Passion of the Christ. It's not that kind of movie. It's the kind of movie that makes you think, that makes you feel guilty, that makes you feel sad.
RIGHT-WING VIEWS ARE BORING. They're not entertaining, and they don't make good films. Who wants to see a movie about why abortion is wrong? Not me. Give me sword fights, goblins, witchcraft, drugs, and mayhem anyday. People like the taboo aspect of popular entertainment. It allows you to walk the fringes of being wild and uninhibited, or at the very least witness people who are. They allow you to indulge in watching things you don't condone, because after all.. it's only a movie.
