It does mean forgetting to. I dont see any Irish or Italians running around crying about slavery thier ancestors endured. And we were talking about slavery before she sasid 50 years ago.
If she meant Jim Crow she shoudla said Jim Crow. By the way Jim crow affected way more than just blacks.
