The humble candy cane! The Christmas candy cane symbolises the real meaning of Christmas. The cane itself is representative of the shepherds crook. The three red lines(on proper traditional canes not the gaudy imitations) spiralling down the cane represent the father, son and holy ghost and the blood of Christ on the white background of purity/virginity. I didn't know this until a few years ago....I believe the mint flavour even has significants but I can't remember what. Anyone else have some interesting Christmas trivia??
