I dunno bro, I play guitar and have for years...and when I tried that game out all it felt like was I was using one of those Toys R Us baby guitars with the buttons you push to make sounds.

I bet you would probably feel similar though about Taiko Drum Master... I got a chance to play it in China and it was fun as shit but it didnt feel all that realistic, especially since the drum beating followed the rythm and not the actual beat...
