Bush is hated by ultra conservatives too... The Rpubs will vote for whoever gets put in there quite simply because they dont want a democrat elected.
I think it was Zell Miller who spoke at the republican convention, I dont recall seeing Barrak, although I didnt watch the whole thing. Barrak is such a party line brainless oaf that I doubt he would have the testicular fortitude to do anything remotely middle of the road.
