I've only moved 4 times, 3 times was with my parents, and the fourth was with my b/f - I'm still there in a little quiet terraced house and I adore it! I did move back to my parent's house during a 'rough patch' and it drove me mad! I think once you get used to your own space there is no going back. Also, I don't own the house yet - the bank do, and it's a total bugger! I re-mortgaged a while ago though after deciding I didn't need a bigger house cos I don't want kids. We spent the money we made on re-furbishing the house, it still isn't finished but I totally love it.
At the end of the day, buying your house is an investment and if you buy in the right area you will continue to make a profit. I think that's one of the most important things to consider when buying a house, you don't want to end up worse off if you decide to sell, so make sure you get plenty of background info before you buy.
Allthough my house is relatively small, it's worth quite a bit more than the standard terraced house because the land it's on can't be built on (all the neighbours clubbed together and bought the land), and it's in close proximity to the motorway so it's ideal for commuting. Just a few things to think about.
Most of all - enjoy it! make it a 'home'
