I recently got into a suvivalist kick... lame I know but its kinda fun.

I got a SHTF bag in my closet.

inside it includes:

Flashlights/batteries

.38 special with 100 rounds of +P Hollow points. (revolver/taurus model)

Medicines: Cough syrup, Benedryl, Tylenol, Asprin, muscle relaxers (saved form old injuries )

Survival/Rambo Knife Strong steel, not that playtoy stainless crap that shatters.

Pack containing matches, needles, threads, string, fishing hooks, and other assorted small things.

Bandages/bandaids.

Old marine/army survival guids and a book on home made incendiary devices.

Gloves

Combat boots

Few dry packets of rice

compass

Flask filled with Absinthe (gothic survival? hardly that shit is extreamly alcoholic, good for pain numbing or cleaning wounds.)

Journals/pens/writing utensils

Tazer w batteries

and a shit load of stuff I am forgetting.

I figure if the shit ever hits the fan or there is civil unrest or I kill someone and need to make a run for it I can survive in the woods or out of my car for a good month before I need anything really. I got spare gasoline in my car as well as a few jackets and blankets and other stuff that can stay in there.

Like I said.. lame but its kinda fun to go through it. I probably wont ever need it, but if there is every a problem I can be out of my apartment with my bag filled with stuff in 5 minutes and driving away.
