I saw this nonsense on CNN the other day. This woman is in serious denial. They had the doctor on for an interview, along with some woman who is part of an organization for defending the right of fat people to be fat.

From the doctor's side, he maintains that this woman, and her husband, face some serious health issues because of their obesity. He also said that the woman refuses to allow him to weigh her, so he actually has no record of her weight for his charts, so he has to approximate.

Part of his discussion about her weight seemed to stray out of the doctor-patient relationship and into her personal life. He said that with both of them being obese, she would likely have her husband die before her, and then she'd be in a social vacuum, or some such thing (translation: you'll be single and fat and won't find anyone else to love you).

The basic gist was that he was so desperate to get the woman to admit her problem and let her help him that he tried to make her aware of other problems beyond her physical health. He may have crossed the line there, but I understand where he's coming from.

Meanwhile, the crazy fat bitch on the other side of the screen spouted all sorts of nonsense about BMI ratings under 25 being completely false as to their health benefits, and that being fat and proud is good...etc, etc, etc.
