i always enjoyed killing them... when i lived at home every summer i would take a can of hair spray and a lighter and ignite a couple thouand of them on our driveway. One thing I have read recently is if you happen to kill one ant the smell attracts more ants to the area.
You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.
