i had never been raised religiously since my family wasnt religious. some background info: my dad has never been a religious guy, but hes always been a damn smart one. my mom has never been religious, only attending church on 2 or 3 occassions that i can recall and only going because a friend asked her to. one one of those occasions she bought me along with her ( i was 7 ) she went to the service and dropped me off in the sunday school class downstairs in the church basement. i walked in and the teacher welcomed me and asked me to have a seat with the class and make a project. they were doing a collage about Jesus and what Jesus meant to them. i saw kids cutting out stuff from magazines and glueing it to construction paper. i looked at the teacher and quite innocently asked, "who is Jesus?" i was answered with a very sharp whack on the head by a rolled up magazine from the boy next to me. and the class as well as the teacher laughed. i ran out. again i was never raised religiously but any religion who can be so cruel to a child who doesnt know their faith...well, thats fucked. wheres the tolerance and love? they didnt want to help me learn, they would rather hate.
