Not really. For instance, I don't have a landline telephone. It's a waste of money to pay $29.99 for basic service, no long distance... when I pay $39.99 for unlimited long distance and 3,000 daytime minutes... free nights and weekends. Etc.

So if I'm at work, and someone needs to get a hold of me, they can leave me a voicemail. I'll get back to them when I can. And since I'm on call for work 24/7, it also comes in handy. I have it set to make an irritatingly loud beeping noise when a voicemail comes in. Wakes me out of just about any substance-induced stupor.
