Cricket is one of the finest sports in the world. No other game can remain interesting for five days. Cricket frequently manages it. I think it's because there is so much scope for variation. You do need to be fairly in-the-know to get the very most out of it, but if you start off by watching a one-day match, or a Twenty20 match, which is even shorter, then they're much more accessable and you can get into it and learn all about it that way. 'If we take in our hand any volume; of divinity or school metaphysics, for instance; let us ask, Does it contain any abstract reasoning concerning quantity or number? No. Does it contain any experimental reasoning, concerning matterof fact and existence? No. Commit it then to the flames: for it contains nothing but sophistry and illusion.'
'The heart of man is made to reconcile the most glaring contradictions.'
