Are there uncomfortable silences? You shouldn't force topics like an interview. You and this girl are supposed to be around each other because you want to be around each other. After that feeling, everything else should flow naturally from there. Perhaps, some space is necessary in order to have things to talk about. General chit-chat is always a good thing because it shows you care about their day-to-day life.
