Honest compliments are good when slipped into the beginning of a polite conversation, especially if they compliment something that the woman isn't expecting. For example, if a woman has startlingly beautiful eyes, then compliment her on her hair. If she's heard the eye thing a thousand times, she'll take the compliment on her hair to mean that you're actually paying attention to her, not just her best features.
