"to care what others think is to be controlled by them" - Voltaire
this is quick becuase I'm just about to leave for work, excuse any typos
Fuck what everyone thinks about you, and surround yourself with people who make you happy and won't judge. Sure, it may be hard at first.. but you don't need a million friends, just a small tight knitt group of like-minded people who share the same interests. And if these people who are judging you happen to be your "friends", screw 'em and dump 'em just as quick.. it's not worth sacrificing your own personal happiness. Plus, they aren't your true friends if they cannot accept who you are.
Unfotunately, with the corpolitical system in todays world, you need to be a well fit little "cog in the machine". I've had jobs where I have to not voice my opinions on politics, religion, or hell.. what kind of music I listen to. It's Work.. I've learned that they are two complete worlds. If you happen to find a place where you can be who you are, that's great! Fantastic! But, most jobs will stifle creativity and self-expression in an effort to create consistency.. "we don't want any free thinkers out there... hell, they might start unionizing!!!" sorry, free flow ranting at the moment

In short: your friends pissing you off? Get new friends... your job choking you? If you can afford it, get a new job or just find little acceptable ways to express yourself at work. You can always change your current situation.. it's when you believe that you're stuck and you'll never get out, that despair kicks in and starts to wear you down.
I hope most of this makes sense, I was typing way too fast.
*goes to work* *poof*
