Actually it's both. Not every member of the jewish race practices the jewish religion, and not every practitioner of the jewish religion is of the jewish race, but it mostly overlaps. I'm sure you've heard of people being called "half-jewish". If it wasn't also a race, you couldn't have a half-jew. They consider anyone born to a racially jewish mother as a jew.
BUT, all that aside, it's still a bunch of bullshit to say that jews control the gov't and the media.
