okay ... I'll admit it. I'm a bit of a corn dog. Cheesy too I've been told. But what's a good wine without some fine cheese, eh? And yes, I'm Canadian. That means that I worship at the altar of all that is Leonard Cohen. I adore everything from his classic genius hit "Suzanne" to "Dance Me to the End of Love" and everything in between including his "Famous Blue Raincoat" poems and songs. Then there's that other Jewish troubadour Bob Dylan, whose poetry is enigmatic and precise and alluring and surreal and resonant and resplendent all at once. I could sit and listen to Bobby and Joan sing "Farewell Angelina" or "Tangled Up in Blue" for hours. But I'm colouring myself sentimental here. Austerity is also an edge I veer towards and the steely spine of P.K. Page's poetry or Sylvia Plath's raw visceral verses rivets me and compels me to seek a higher muse than the ones I frequent and abuse.
