NEWS ANALYSIS Flip-flopping charge unsupported by facts Kerry always pushed global cooperation, war as last resort... http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2004/09/23/MNGQK8TI8O1.DTL
In the classic Republican style too... Start pointing the finger at the Democrats and going on about how they responded to this administrations faulty intelligence. Never mind the fact that the Democrats still wanted all other options exhausted and have war as a last resort. Never mind that the weapons inspectors (who could have told us that Iraq had no WMD's before the thousands of lives were lost in this war) barely had a chance to look. Never mind that in the end, it was your guy that took us there.
...
Oh, and here's some Republican views on Saddam's "weapons" systems, pre 911...
"He (Saddam Hussein) has not developed any significant capability with respect to weapons of mass destruction. He is unable to project conventional power against his neighbors."
-Colin Powell (Febuary 2001)
"We are able to keep arms from him (Hussein). His military forces have not been rebuilt."
-Condoleezza Rice (July 2001) "Personally, I'm in favor of democracy, which means that the central institutions of society have to be under popular control. Now, under capitalism, we can't have democracy by definition. Capitalism is a system in which the central institutions of society are in principle under autocratic control. " -Noam Chomsky
