Peace is not the lack of fighting, but rather the strength of will to not fight.
Many people are so barbaric and stupid that they prefer fighting over peace, since fighting is far easier to do.
Fight or flight response, basically.
"Flight" would mean you must run away, and of course evade the person. "fight" just deals with directly greeting them with a fist or two.
Which is seemingly easier to do? Fight of course.
