A little American loyalty would also go a long way in this day and age if selfish me me me types would buy american 1st whenever they have the chance, when it deals with cars this is a very obvious option.. it is not when it comes to TVs however.
k, you make no sense or points. profit off of any product goes into many things. engineering, manufacturing, the man, assembly, distributers, stores (dealerships). yes some of the cash is fed back into japan. its called international. however, a good percentage goes to the assembly workers (american), manufacturing (global and american, such as gibbs diecasting for which i worked), dealerships (american for this market), transportation and distribution (american).

turns out americans are on the design team for north america too. research before believing.

now lets look at ford and gm. both MAJOR global players. design normally handled by american and european teams, parts manufactured globally, assembly in canada, america and mexico. dealerships, distribution all same due to cars prepared for north american market.

another tidbit is that ford has been designing there vehicles in metric (gasp) since at least the early 80's if not far before. *information from a ford mustang seat drawing in college (open headrest model).

welcome to a global economy. it isn't going away no matter how much you complain. the companies you believe in aren't american anymore. however, we still are the industrial leader and you can be proud that many of the largest global companies started in america.
