Are you referencing all the new age movements since the sixties? All these new agers can't hold a candle to the old cults. The old cults have them out numbered and vastily overpowered. An easy test is simply asking the person what they are capable of with the craft. New agers will make excuses and start quoting laws. They are delusional, and often introduce themselves as witches, just for the attention. They give the craft a bad name.
If you are one of these people you never practiced in the first place, you just thought you did. It doesn't surprise me at all, that these people are going into an even more commercialized watered down form. That's fitting, and predictable.
And Btw, a lot of Botanicas here, in El Paso, have Christian symbolism inside them. Yes, Voodoo will wear a Christian mask.
