That only depends on how you look at it though.
I personally see life as a gift, as an adventure. Every trial I've gone through, every tragedy I've endured, all the crap I've had to deal with in my life, has been a learning experiance.
I feel I am supposed to walk away from this life a little wiser then before. I don't see life as an endless torment of death and horror. I deal with each horror as it comes upon me, and do my best to learn from it. Of course, the learning takes forever, because I'm too busy fuming about what I'm currently dealing with.
I appreciate the good stuff I've had in my life enough to know that the bad stuff is almost always worth it. They who understand the difference between the creation and the creator, and know the technique of liberation from the trap of Maya, with the help of knowledge, attain the Supreme.
