Well, no shit. Like Dy said, the Baptists are a new development. And I did say
many of them, not
all of them, for, as I mentioned before, the coptics are still around. When the catholics became the Roman empire, most christian cults were contained entirely within the empire and those that were commanded to exterminate them had no real motivation not to. When the reformation happened, however,
more than a thousand years later, there was motivation to protect the protestants. Afterall, they were preaching that you didn't owe anything to the church... princes liked that.
