I'd like to see some actual statistical evidence that keeping someone alive for life in prison costs less than executing them. I understand that executions cost a deal of money especially where court proceedings are concerned, but to feed a man 3 squares for 40 years (maybe more if he has more than one life sentence and happens to be a young man) and provide him with the necessities of life (toothpaste, clothes, sheets, soap, etc.) has got to cost a pretty penny.
