It's a touchy situation... Many people go after the doctors and employees of the clinics, but it's the government of the state that allows it. People who are against abortion should be going to their congressman, not the clinics.
If you were a child that was going to be born into a "third-world country" of a home where the father beats the wife and food was as likely to come around as your education and hopes to living a better life... Would you rather die before you knew it? or would you like to live through hell and then die? or worse yet... Continue living in hell? I certainly would choose the latter.
But say... it was a couple who could raise a child in a healthy environment, with loving parents... But they simply didn't want the child... I don't think it's right to allow an abortion. That couple should've been on birthcontrol of some sort.
If the government did some sort of "test" for the allowance of abortion... things might work better, but it'd cost money. Something such as a form that would ask for adjusted gross income, living conditions, reason for wanting the abortion, and etc... It'd probably go through better.
Or say, you were a woman who was raped? What do you do then?
Then there's a matter of how long the pregnancy has been on... I'm a major in Biology and I've seen all there is to see in the womb... And say, if the person is past the first tri-mester... Well, there shouldn't be an abortion. During the first 3 months, the being living in the uterus isn't exactly "living". And 3 months is damn well enough time to decide whether or not you can handle raising a child... And even then, there should be tests run to allow or not allow an abortion.
Anyways... I suppose that's my "to the people" opinion. But personally, if my girlfriend and I were to become pregnant... There is no such thing as abortion. The child will be born and raised the best as I can possibly do it. |
