Evil Ginge and Common Sense -- Please Read - 08-29-03

This is about the fight sequence in the "Forbidden Forest" thread.

First of all I'm not sure if either of you still come here, there was some OOC chatter where it was mentioned by Common Sense that he doesn't come here anymore...

Secondly I shall apologize for the lack of moderation in this forum prior to this point. It appears that the main section of the forum which is the initial impression any new player will get, has been ignored for quite some time and for that I am sorry to see it has become so.

Thirdly, I would like to get to the critique bit of the fight sequence and point out a few things. Before I do that however, I thank you both for the dual cooperation since both parties are well, "guilty" of essentially the same idea. I shall have to double check in with the Roleplay Guidelines and see if anything was ever mentioned about only playing YOUR character, not anybody else's.

Here are a few of the key points I picked up while reading through the thread.

Evil Ginge -- First post he is in a tree.
Second post he for no reason lets an arrow fly into the newcomer, "Common Sense" who retaliates then takes cover from a tree.

At this point we can safely deduct that both parties are "Up" in the trees, by their own words.

Evil ginge lets another arrow fly at the "obvious" head of Common Sense, who has taken cover. (Leeway given since we have no idea of what angle the two 'hiding' spots are in comparison to each other.

Common Sense hears the twang of the bow and "rolls" back into his cover which aforementioned was that of a tree, and since then there has been nothing mentioned about him moving from that location. In retaliation, Common Sense throws a blade at his opponent

Evil Ginge mentions dodging the blade and it 'hammering into the dirt beside him" even though there has been no mention of him moving from his initial position in the tree that he entered the storyline in. He follows this up by throwing a quickly devised bomb at the tree where Common Sense also has made no mention of leaving the cover of.

Common sense dodges the bomb simply by stating it was thrown at the tree he was not behind. Still at this point neither opponent has moved from their position in the trees yet are somehow on the ground, and Common Sense seems to teleport to be behind his opponent, and then plays the part of Ginge saying that Ginge has a blade to his ribcage.

Ginge is a good sport and goes along with it... common sense loosens the pressure of his own blade and in turn again plays the part of Ginge stating that his opponent's force also loosens.

Moving on... the two are circling each other and Common Sense parries back and forth with Ginge, stating that he ripped flesh from ise's shoulder on his second parry.

Evil ginge ignores the flesh wound and follows it up with an offensive move of his own where he states actions inflicted upon the opponent. He also goes on to further state that he manages to knock Common Sense's blade away... pinning him down by sitting on his chest and using his knees to hold down his arms.

At this point Common Sense contorts himself so that he can wrap his legs around the neck of his opponent throwing him to one side. Fairly enough he has the opponent reattacking him by the time he himself is back on his feet however he 'sidesteps' and trips and breaks Ise's back.

Ginge suddenly now has armored plating on his back also not aforementioned at all.

Now -- Provided that both of you are "okay" with your opponent making moves and stating the outcome of their action against your character then all is fine and dandy and we can just ignore this post. However note should be taken that under ideal circumstances we cannot have that happening otherwise the player of the opposing character would be left with little say in what happened to their own character. I think we can all agree that we wouldn't want that happening to any of us.

Last but definately not least I'd like to say that both of you do show incredible potential as roleplayers and while past experiences here in the Roleplay forum may have proven to be less than satisfactory I can assure you that a lot of things are changing and the main area of the roleplay forum shall not be essentially 'left to its own devices' again in terms of what is acceptable and what is not.

If there are any questions or comments feel free to either post them here in reply to this thread or else PM me.

Thank you.
