married my first cousin Judy on August 9 1990 In citrus county Florida .We were living in Lansing Michigan at the time ,which prohibits cousin marriages so to our families home state we went. We both had been married before so we opted for a clerk of the court to marry us .I had divorced my ex-wife two years before this (just didn`t work out ,married me to get out of a relationship)and Judy had just gone through a divorce to a very abusive man .She left him and moved to Lansing with her 5 year old daughter.
I hadn`t seen Judy since she was 9 years old then in 1988 our Grandmother was diagnosed with liver cancer and would not live much longer.So I went to my dad`s home town to see my grandmother .Judy and I spent alot of time together during the two weeks I was there and a love that was un measurable blossomed.She told me of her failing marriage and how she was afraid of her husband.I offered her a place to come to if she ever wanted to leave him.We hugged and kissed goodbye and I left for my home in Lansing.About 2 weeks later Judy left Florida bound for Lansing Michigan.She had not left a note or anything and everybody was looking for her and her daughter only my grandmother figured where she had gone so they called me.I told them I would have her call the moment she arrived.Over the next few months Judy and I grew very close I remember saying to her "I wish you weren`t my cousin I`d marry you in a heartbeat" ( you see I believed the taboo about cousins back then) She replied so what, did you know that we have an aunt and uncle that are cousins.I thought about it and decided why not.At this point we called our parents and told them of our decision to marry.They were very glad we had found such a perfect match for one another and have supported us 100% from the very start of our relationship .On top of that we found out that we were expecting a child.our son was born July 1 1990 and has been a blessing to us ever since
